yes, as a carl edwards fan myself, i do agree that he probably wont be a consistent contender (top 5- top 3) until he focuses more on cup not nationwide. I think we will see 3-5 wins 10-15 top 5s and 20-25 top tens and between 4-8 in the points at the end of 2008

guess i was wrong,
finished 2nd in points
19 top 5's 27 top 10's
and i think had the best chase, had top 3 or 4 car ever race in the chase, just wrecked at talladega and broke ignition at lowes. his chase finishes are 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 29th, 33rd, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 4th, 1st i think he had the best chase,(car wise not result wise) cause jimmie struggled at texas, really was like a 15th place car. carl had top 3 or 4 car ever race in the chase, just wrecked at talladega and broke ignition at lowes.

I like Carl Edwards he reminds me of a young Mark Martin, but just like Mark I don't think he will ever be a real threat for the title.

^ Have you not been paying attention to the points standings the past 4 years? Edwards has been a serious contender for the title every year since 2005. In his first full time season in Busch & Cup, he almost became the first to win both titles. Last year, he could have won the Cup title going into the final race. That's a perennial "real threat" if I ever saw one.
