The time has come for two drivers to duke it out for the SRD Truck Series championship. Sean English and Trey Coleman will be fighting for this title this weekend, and 22 others just wanting a race win will be in their way. Let's take a look at the scenarios needed for Sean English, who sits 7 points behind Trey Coleman.

Scenario #1: Neither Driver Leads a Lap/ Both Lead a Lap
If neither driver leads a lap, Sean English must finish 8 positions ahead of Coleman. He cannot finish 7 ahead, as Trey Coleman would win in a tiebreaker for having the most wins. If both lead a lap, but not the most, the same scenario comes into play.

Scenario #2: One Driver Leads A Lap
If Sean English leads a lap, he can then finish 7 positions ahead of Coleman, but if Coleman leads a lap English must now finish 9 positions ahead.

Scenario #3: One Driver Leads Most Laps
If English leads the most laps, he can now finish 6 positions ahead of Coleman. If English leads the most laps but Coleman leads a lap, he must finish 7 ahead. If Coleman leads the most laps English must finish 10 positions ahead of Coleman, unless English also leads a lap, in which he must finish 9 positions ahead.

Not the best on 1.5 mile tracks, but let's hope either of the @games123 Prepared Toyotas end up in victory lane today. We may not be for the championship, but we can still race like we are!

Welcome to beautiful Homestead, Florida and the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Tonight, we crown the 2016 SRD Truck Series champion. Before the racing action starts tonight, let's start off with a little pre-race coverage.

    image.jpeg
With a little under 10 minutes to green, let's take a look at your two championship contending drivers.......

Sean English hails from McKinney, Texas and has been a long time part of the SRD Racing League. Owner of English Motorsports and driver for Missimer Motorsports, he's definitely no fluke. He has been in this situation before with the #6 heading into Homestead looking for a championship, but couldn't make it happen. Skyjacker Suspensions is on board today, and gave him an SRD blue car for the race. Could he win the championship today? It will be an uphill battle for sure.
    **********

"Trey Coleman is your 2015 champion by just 1 point over Brendan Peavy!"
The words came out of Zack Webster's mouth as he told the fans at home that the #12 car had taken it all. He took the National Series by storm and today he could once again be a champion. Driving the #12 Central Virgina Contest Club (CVCC) Ford for his own team, Coleman Racing, he'll be racing for more than just himself today. He'll be racing for all of the members of CVCC, his employees, the people of Richmond, Virginia, and of course for the trophy at the end. He has a 7 point gap coming in. Can he retain this lead to take the prize?

@TColeman_12 on Periscope: "Ready to race tonight. Driver introductions have started, I'd better get out there"
Announcer : "Here's your defending SRD Cup series champion, John Hooper Sr!!!"
*The crowd cheers loudly as Hooper walks down the stage, high fiving each fan.*
Announcer: "And now, what you've all been waiting for, here is the defending SRD National Series Champion, and the points leader heading into today, TREY COLEMAN!!!!!!!!
*The crowd roars as Coleman walks out onto the stage, live broadcasting the introduction from his phone. Coleman takes the time to take pictures with fans, then walks into the championship contender picture, as he joins Sean English for photos.*

Our invocation and the national anthem have been completed.

Honorary grand marshal Mike Peters has given the command, the trucks are now on pace laps.

Lap 1: Green Flag: John Hooper Sr. gets out to a good lead, Bob Laryson drops in behind down the back. Three wide for third in turn 3, Coleman shuffled back to 6th.
