Twice. I'st been used twice since Jeff dropped it back in 2000 (i believe). I could care less cause I love seeing the rainbow warrior anytime.

    This would make four times.

    2004 All-Star Race
    2015 Bristol Night Race
    2017 Darlington Xfinity
    2018 Darlington Cup

Yeah man, the blue #2 or purple #99 would've been cool to see out there.

I wouldn't count the xfinity one just because it's not cup/hendrick/chevy. But still 4 times in 18 years is not that often. Plus the rainbow car finally gets to run Darlington. Fuck you 2015/3m lol.

It's really more like we've seen it 3 times in 4 years than 4 times in 18 years that gets me. There's a plethora of Gordon DuPont schemes that could have been used instead of the rainbow scheme again.

Was really hoping they'd continue with using Ricky schemes like I did last year with the GMAC car. But I suppose this fits too.

The Hendrick/Craven Dupont car would have been awesome...

It is the one everyone knows and loves. Makes sense to do it. And the next years you could always run other DuPont schemes down the road. I mean i did want his 2001-2006 flame car, or even better his 2007-2008 car. But as a Gordon fanboy I am more than ok with this one.

Yawn. 2001-2008 scheme was better than the rainbow scheme, d@m.

Well technically the standard scheme has plenty of differences from Gordon's.

The fact that they used the rainbow scheme at Bristol in 2015 was just random and kind of dumb, with Darlington being retro weekend. And the car run in the Xfinity Series last year was a Toyota not affiliated with Hendrick, and with the rainbow stripes reversed. I'm with @starscream24, this way we get to see the scheme run at Darlington with the other retros.

I think the whole reason was because of the fact that 3M already had the weekend. Jeff probably wanted to run that scheme once more in his final season, so why not Bristol?

It would have been more fitting for Homestead IMO.

Yeah, it could've worked at Homestead too.... but wasn't the silver car already unveiled?

No the silver car was annouced later in the year. The original scheme that was released for the finale was the regular black with like white text on the TV panel saying Thanks Jeff(think they used the same wording on the silver car).

Yeah...eh. Happy to see it on a Camaro, but that's about it. Gordon had a ton of iconic schemes (imo), and yet we are back to the rainbow.

I’m sure they chose this scheme (again) for monetary reasons. Pretty disappointed.
