I mean... It's not horrible, but it's probably his worst scheme so far this year.

I didn't mind the Clover scheme. I just don't think these two shades of blue work well together, especially with the darker shade at the front.

Just watch, they'll make a diecast of this but didn't make the amazing Kyle Petty car from last year.

Terrible. Not even remotely the same color scheme and there's nothing tying the current #42 team to Davey Allison. Different number, different team owner, different sponsor, different manufacturer...it's just like they picked it out of a hat. Not to mention this throwback has been done multiple times already, get some damn creativity.

Yeah, it's not that it looks like shit, it's just there was no reason to throw back to this. They have absolutely no ties whatsoever to this scheme, no reason to throw back to it. My guess is since it's DC Solar colours, DC Solar picked it.

I saw this posted in a group I'm in on Facebook, and it kinda makes sense.

"Texaco ended their NASCAR legacy on the #42. This scheme has been ran before on both Ganassi's Cup and Xfinity cars. Lorin Ranier who helped run Ganassi for many years and still has big influence there is from Ranier Racing where this scheme originally ran. Lorin helped Davey, Kyle, and Jamie all get their start."

Was that their mindset? I'm not sure.

they could have just made it look like an old car and call it a day. I love silver numbers though
