Seriously, race title sponsors have to know by now they're basically only marketing to the crowd at the track.

To be fair, we're all gonna need to drink some Big Machine Vodka to get through watching a stock car race at Indy.

I can go through a full Indy race without vodka, but we actually could try watcing the Brickyard 400 along with vodka and all the members of the SRD family...It would be a huge party! :D

Todd Parrott is a champion crew chef with Dale Jarrett but over the years it seems like he cannot stay at one team more than year or two.

Well for one he doesn’t have a sponsor. Not sure if that’s what AMLNet is getting at though.

Yea that and he flunked out at FRM which was supposed to be his break. The equipment isnt good but he did nothing in the flagship car after overperforming in the second car (during FRM’s “summer of Roush” mind you). Notice all the Cassill fanboys (I’ll admit I was one for a while) have dried up as of late. He’s a guy who outdrives bad equipment, but that’s it.

David Ragan has made a career out of being basically that, but he has the plate wins, sponsor/driver relationships, and extended relationship with Ford, all of which Cassill doesn’t have so Landon probably will be back to Xfinity if anything. I just cant see him getting another Cup ride at this point

    What...

FRM is a 25th place team. They've proven that for like 10 years now. David Ragan this season had the highest average finish for a full time FRM driver ever, with a 24.9. Next comes Chris Buescher in 2016 with a 26.1, than Gilliland in 2013 with a 26.2. In Cassill's 2 years at FRM, his average finishes were 26.3 and 26.5. Right there with the team's history. How does one even flunk out at FRM? With the equipment as it is there is only so much you can do. They (he and Ragan) finished right next to each other in the standings this year too. I just don't see how he failed so badly with a team that is very lucky to muster 10 top 20 finishes in a season. If you consider FRM a "big break", then I must really be missing something. Kid just needs an actual shot. With actual solid equipment, I believe he'd really shine, not to mention he's great with sponsors and interacting on social media.

It’s not all about average finish. He was outrun by Ragan the whole season.

Cassill had: 0 Top 10s, 3 Top 20s, and 5 lead lap finishes

Ragan had: 3 Top 10s, 8 Top 20s, and 7 lead lap finishes

I had this conversation earlier, the people know I’m back and forth on Cassill... he has been outperformed by other drivers when sharing rides in top 10s, but Cassill blew his mates out of the water in average finish. But that is the past. In 2017, Cassill finished 31st with a 26th or 28th place average, don’t remember which. Ragan finished 30th, and McDowell finished 26th with a 23rd average.

I’ve alternated between the idea he’s good and bad. He no longer has a personal sponsor, but he has a fan base that would make him marketable if a team wanted to try. He has 1 career top 10 in 2nd hand RCR equipment that was in a poor state. There’s something else I’m completely missing though.
