Welcome to the Sin City for the second round of the SRD Truck Series Playoffs. This will be our first elimination round, meaning after this week two playoff contenders will be eliminated from competing for the 2018 SRD Truck title. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway facility first opened in 1972 as a dragstrip and evolved all the way until 1996 when the 1.5 mile speedway we know today was completed. Today the facility features the 1.5 miler, a 0.375 bullring oval, the half mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas, and of course the original quarter miler drag strip.

The SRD Trucks have visited this facility only once before with Daniel Asher scoring the victory in 2016.

Last Week: A wreckfest at Iowa, D.J. Harris was able to put his Wichelman Motorsports truck on the pole with a new series record at the track, 22.961. What followed was nothing short of astonishing, NINE CAUTIONS, starting on lap three when we had a four-wide race for position gone wrong causing a four truck pileup. We would eventually make it to see the last 40 laps or so of green flag racing as Mike Ehresman absolutely checked out from the rest of the remaining 12 trucks on track to score his third victory of 2018 and lock himself into round two of the SRD Truck Series Playoffs.

    Race Info:
Race length: 107 laps, 160.5 miles
    Stage 1: 50 laps
    Stage 2: 57 laps

    PAST POLESITTERS/WINNERS:
    2016: Trey Coleman (31.016)/Daniel Asher

    Weekend Schedule:
    Friday, December 14 -
    Practice 1: 12PM EST
    Final Practice 2PM EST
    Qualifying: 3:30 PM EST

    Saturday, December 15 -
    Race: 1PM EST

"Now would be a great weekend to bounce back. Last weekend's blown motor was costly in more ways than one."

"Not expecting much for Las Vegas honestly. As long as we avoid on-track incidents and found a good set-up with solid pace for the weekend, I would call this week as a success."

@BrendonH12 "We don't seem to have very much speed this week, but I guess we can look on the bright side: if we keep having the bad luck we've been having, it won't be that much of a disappointment if we're already running in the back." *laughs*

"Fourth in qualifying sounds promising, but we still to need to make sure we had the race pace, otherwise everyone will just buggering off from us like in Armory Digital..."

"Las Vegas has always been one of my best tracks, but we can't seem to find speed this weekend. Hopefully, we'll have something by race time."

Lap 1 (GREEN FLAG): Jesse Dalton will lead us to the green flag and we are rolling at Las Vegas! Heading into turn one, Dalton is going to get a push from John Hooper and Matt Wichelman, he will easily clear Joshua Hawkins.

LEAD CHANGE: Dalton moves up to take the top lane, and here comes John Hooper to make the pass in turns three and four, he will lead the first lap but is quickly over taken by Wichelman in the 10.

Lap 2: Wichelman looks like he gets loose and slides up into turn one, that opens the door for Matheus Fiorentini to slide to the top spot. Wichelman is caught in the middle and he is going to get freight trained. Meanwhile further back the pack is still trying to get itself sorted out running two wide all the way back to Jon Peterson in 28th who looks to be falling off pace.

Lap 3: Still two by two all the way back, biggest mover in the field so far is Noah Joyce who is currently fighting for the fifth spot, he’s gained ten positions from his fifteenth starting spot.

Lap 4: THREE-WIDE FOR THE LEAD, J.R. Franklin has it for a second but Noah Joyce is going to get the push from Caudill and Foster. Wichelman still holds strong in the middle with no help.

Lap 5: Joey Foster gets by Caudill for second and will set his sights on the lead. How about Jacob Craigo up there now, he started 23rd and has made his way up to the third position. These Craigo trucks seem really strong today.

LEAD CHANGE: Battle for the lead, it’s Jacob Craigo getting the run under his teammate Foster! He’s bringing Joshua Hawkins up there with him.
