It's one thing to lay out the ground rules, but be honest, will they be consistent about it?

It'll be really interesting to see if anyone has the guts to push it and potentially get dq'd. I really just want to see how its handled.

Some Xfinity points swaps between two teams: Brandon Brown will have RCR-3 pts; MBM will have Ganassi-42 pts, Rick Ware 17 will have RFR-60 pts, McLeod 78 will have RFR-17 pts ... BJ McLeod will use No. 5 instead of No. 8, which JRM will use this year.

    Participation guidelines announced
The national series driver participation guidelines remain mostly unchanged from 2018. Drivers with more than five years of full-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series experience are eligible for a maximum of seven NASCAR Xfinity Series starts and five NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts.

Drivers who elect to accumulate Monster Energy Series points are not eligible to compete in any Dash 4 Cash or Triple Truck Challenge races, or the final eight races in either the Xfinity Series or the Gander Outdoors Truck Series. In addition, drivers who earn points in the Xfinity Series are ineligible to compete in Triple Truck Challenge races and the championship race for the Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

    QUALIFYING TWEEK
NASCAR officials revealed Monday a more compact schedule for national series qualifying procedures at the majority of its tracks in 2019.

At both short tracks and intermediate speedways, the first of three rounds will be shortened from 15 minutes to 10. The other rounds will remain 10 minutes for Round 2 and five minutes for the final round.

At every national-series track next season, the down-time intervals between rounds will be trimmed from seven minutes to five.

Qualifying at superspeedways (Daytona and Talladega) will remain two untimed rounds of single-lap qualifying. Road-course qualifying will continue to be two rounds — 25 minutes followed by a 10-minute final round.

    Getting specific
NASCAR also announced Monday that its three national tours will have dedicated, series-specific officials conducting inspections in 2019.

Elton Sawyer, NASCAR’s Vice President of Officiating and Technical Inspection, said there will be 12 officials devoted to the Monster Energy Series, 10 for the Xfinity Series and eight for the Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

I always doubted the fans complaining about Brian France, I always figured he was simply the public head of a corporate machine. Very little he could do to change how the machine operated. However, I think today finally proves them right. This is Jim France's first off-season as President/CEO and we've seen some of the biggest changes we've seen in a while. Pretty much everything that came out of NASCAR today were logical level-headed changes that will probably be good for the sport. Just wish we started making some of these changes about 5 years ago. However, as they say, second best day to plant a tree is today.

Great day for NASCAR. Makes me excited.

Officials from AM Racing (@AMRacingNASCAR) announced today the reboot of their NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) team with driver Austin Wayne Self (@AustinWSelf) for the full season beginning with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Fri., Feb. 15, 2019.

As part of their restructuring, AM Racing has moved its assets from Statesville, N.C. to Mooresville, N.C., where the team will be managed by longtime industry veteran Kevin Cywinski in a collaborative effort with Win-Tron Racing.

The team has purchased several trucks from GMS Racing to prepare for the upcoming 23-race schedule and has also signed a technical alliance with the organization.

That's pretty cool, at least we are probably going to see good races in the Duels.
