I’m now wondering if all the SHR cars had the same set up

This could be HUGE in the championship race! Should make the next 2 races a lot more exciting!

Hey, at least he still has a real chance to make it into the final 4.

    Unlike Almirola... lol

Guess Harvick and company can count their blessings that they're just 3 points to the good, rather than being out of the top 4, and tied with Almirola in points, had NASCAR went with a 75 point L2 penalty that was considered.

Also, that linked article discusses the potential of this at Homestead. Cars undergo an enhanced inspection and engine tear down immediately after the race. Supposedly the cars are R&D'ed beforehand as well...

. Please help me straighten my warped way of thinking. I know they gave the max penalty under L1 but to me cheating on a spec part is different than some creative machining we have seen in the rear suspension. They didn’t try to exploit the gray area they completely disregarded it. I think the penalty should have been harsher

They did not modify or alter the spoiler. They offset it to the right of the car more. If the spoiler itself had been modified, I'd say you would've seen a bigger penalty.

Yeah, they didn't modify or alter a spoiler, per Scott Miller, they simply made one themselves and offset it.

Due to the No. 4 team’s infraction, Miller said NASCAR will now be unbolting every spoiler and examining them during at-track inspection for the final two races. That will add another step to the inspection process, which NASCAR obviously didn’t want. “It’s unfortunate now we’ll be pulling spoilers off and have to do another inspection,” Miller said. “The teams should really be bringing legal cars to the racetrack and we shouldn’t have to do that inspection all the time.”
