Ok so i am going to show you how to add a safety net to a model that does not have one using the default CLM Max 8 72Nova scene.
We can use the existing texture maps that come with the scene namely the somwind & somwind_ti textures.
So open the model up or if you have another scene you want to use.
This is basically going to show you how to add and texture extra parts into a pre_existing model. 72_Nova 1.jpg We can then add the Safety net just by adding a plane to the side of the car and moving it into place,
You will have to right click on the plane and convert it to a Editable Poly so you can adjust the size of it to fit the opening.
    72_Nova 2.jpg
Then move it into place and adjust it to fit.
After doing that we can go to the modify panel click on the down arrow and select Unwrap UVW.
    72_Nova 4.jpg
Then select the open UV Editor

Great awesome woho :D:D now comes the fun part,
Ok so in the Editor window on the right hand side you will see the image selection window it will default to Checker pattern just click on the drop down window and click on Pick Texture.
    Pick texture.jpg
Then navigate to the texture you need in this case it's the map called somwind.bmp select it
    Somwind jpg.jpg
select open you will the be back at the UV editor with the texture open.
    Open texture.jpg
Now all we have to do is resize the safety net UV's to fit the safety net in the texture sounds easy enough right.
All you need to do is scale it down just right click and select scale click and drag until you get to a close fit then you can adjust the uv's by using the vertex points
    vertex udjustment.jpg
By holding down the shift while dragging this enables you to drag in a straight line.
Line up all of the edges with the safety net texture in the centre.
OK that's that done with close the UV Editor and then right click on the Unwrap UVW modifier and select collapse to all.

You will get a warning window stating Warning collapse all just select yes.
    Collaps warning.jpg
Now just apply the same texture we used in the UVW process to the safety net and then add the somwind_ti to the opacity slot.

And Render. Some size adjustment may be needed.
