Since we are coming close to the Chase I just wanted to share my predictions. OK, When it comes to the chase we think point separation. It is going to come down to 12 drivers in this chase. Each driver is ten points behind the leader of the points standings. The leader is Tony Stewart. If Mark Martin wins a race at New Hampshire I think he will be in the lead in the point standings.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the chase started today, Mark Martin will be the leader. He has 4 wins, Stewart only has 3.

It's quite obvious that if Mark Matin won New Hampshire, he would be in the pont lead considering he would already be tied for the top seed in the chase.

But, I'll give you my chase predictions:
1. Mark Martin
2. Jimmie Johnson
3. Kurt Busch
4. Denny Hamlin
5. Tony Stewart
6. Matt Kenseth
7. Jeff Gordon
8. Carl Edwards
9. Kyle Busch
10. Greg Biffle
11. Brian Vickers
12. Ryan Newman

And if Kyle Busch makes it, that'll leave Stewart seeded 3rd.

We know three have clinched, Busch, Hamlin, and Edwards aren't in but are just about locked in, the rest are bubbled.

This is how chase seeding works for the chase-confused:

Category 1: Number of wins
Category 2: Number of 2nd's
Category 3. Number of 3rd's
and so on until everyone has a definitive spot.

Greg Biffle, who has 8 top-fives, but no seconds, would be seeded behind Montoya, who has one second. Still some fixing up to do.

So close, yet so far for him....
At least he went across the finsh line... though not much of his car was left.

back to the chase....

Rowdy will replace Kahne in the chase...

I want to believe he will make it in, but he's been the most inconsistent "contender" all year. As soon as he does good, he follows up with bad races...and this is when it will hurt him if he does.

Yes I agree. He hasn't run well especially on the cookie cutters, but If he does well at Atlanta...

Seeing as how Jr. now sits 529 points out of the 12th and final Chase spot I don't really see that happening. Even if Jr. is the only driver to race at Atlanta and Richmond he's only going to gain 370 points which would put him in 16th, one point ahead of Reutimann in 17th. I do have to admire your optimism though! :twitcy:

1. Stewart
2. Hamlin
3.Johnson
4. Kyle Busch (knocks Kenseth out of the Chase)
5. Martin
6. Biffle
7. Kurt Busch
8. Vickers (knocks Montoya out of the Chase)
9. Gordon
10. Newman
11. Kahne
12. Edwards

Yeah, I don't know if you were joking or not, but that's one of the funniest things I've seen today.:twitcy:
He can't even mathematically make it at this point, the furthest back possible is Ambrose, and he as a tiny shot, if he wins the next two races while leading the most laps and everybody else has bad luck.

11.dale earnheart jr
And also, do you misspell Earnhardt on purpose with heart to make it seem better? I like that, it's cool.
