Hm, wonder what this could be.
According to NASCAR's website, Carl Edwards will be there for the announcement so I assume they'll announce him for the cover.
"11 a.m.: Dusenberry Martin Racing announcement with Carl Edwards"
NASCAR Heat Evolution! Highest finishing Toyota in the All Star Race is on the cover.
DIRT TO DAYTONA HYPE TRAIN TOOT TOOT
It won't. That's about all I can say on the subject.
One can hope it won't. I'd love to have a reason to buy a new NASCAR game for the first time in almost ten years (last game purchased being NASCAR 09).
Wow, I've paid for all of the BS Eutechnyx produced. I'm really excited for this new game. I never played Heat or Dirt to Daytona so I have no idea what to expect.
I absolutely LOVED D2D. The immersive career mode and second to none AI and super speedway racing of that game gives me hope that we may finally see something of a revival... if they don't f*ck it up.
I'm salivating at the potential ability to alter the liveries if the coding structure is anything like the older heat games. Might just have a worthy successor if we can figure that out.
DMi did say that it's a simulation-type game, and they're releasing it on PC. Do you think they'll allow modding on PC?
Shouldn't be hard, Steam is a great place for modding. Now it does depend on licensing and whatnot.
Personally, I think the inclusion of challenges by itself is amazing. Normally I'm cynical when it comes to these new games, but this is hard to bash on... it's HEAT reborn.
INB4 DiBurrito wins the All-Star vote and gets the cover after all the Gibbs-affiliated guys crash out.
That would be amazing.
Loved Dirt to Daytona, best career mode of any nascar game. If this game is anywhere close to D2D than was it will be a great game! Very Exciting!
This game should be good. I mean, it shouldn't be THAT hard to make a game better than ETX.
BTW, is that the actual cover art? Doesn't look that great.
Why only Toyota drivers for the cover? Seems kinda lame and would be hilarious if all Toyota drivers crashed out before the race ended so the highest loser got to be on the cover lol. Also I thought Dmi had the license for a Nascar game are they not making a console one I guess?
Sorry for the pessimism but with the past track record of Nascar console games I'm definitely going to hold back until I see how much content it has/if it isn't a junkyard like Eutecnyx was with their Nascar games. I'd hope with the next gen power of PS4/Xbox One we can FINALLY have a game that doesn't have dummy AI and some actual simulation options for once. I don't need another year of "this is [insert company name here]'s first year, their next game will be better" crap.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what it's going to look like.
