Only 8 Cup races in 2021 will have practice and qualifying. They are:
Feb. 14: Daytona 500
March 28: Bristol Motor Speedway dirt
May 23: Circuit of the Americas
May 30: Coca-Cola 600, Charlotte Motor Speedway
June 20: Nashville Superspeedway
July 4: Road America
Aug. 15: Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course
Nov. 7: Phoenix Raceway

I am probably one of the few that actually wants to see them practice and qualify.

Practice. At least one 1 hour session mainly to make sure that everything is buttoned up on the cars and working properly before they hit the track for the race.

Qualifying. Mainly because without qualifying, it kind of makes the Busch Clash obsolete.

No, I'd like to see practice and qualifying, too, for probably obvious reasons. haha

To be fair, you don't need qualifying to get into the Clash... they would/could just change the rules like the 'Unlimited'.

Did not see that one coming. Hopefully RSS can continue the momentum they had last season and snag a win or two this year. As we saw, the Fords were dominant last season so hopefully RSS gets the same support as Penske and SHR.

That announcement came out of left field, but it's a good move for RSS Racing. They'll probably get more support compared to what they were getting under Chevy

So two things that came out today:

1. Hailie Deegan dropped the R-word on an iRacing stream(last night I believe), and she gave out an apology on Twitter. NASCAR today didn't penalize her in any way, but required her to take Sensitivity Training before the start of the 2021 season.

2. NASCAR scheduled another test at Charlotte with the NextGen car. During the Daytona test, they apparently came across some parts and setups that they felt would work on the intermediate tracks, and wanted to test them locally before moving on. Kurt Busch is slated to be the test driver once again for Charlotte.

As far as RSS switching to Ford, it is a bit surprising, and not really at the same time. As they said, they needed to shake things up, and with a small number of Fords, maybe they hope for some help, both from Ford and Penske/Stewart HAAS. Plus I don't know how much they were spending on motors at ECR, so maybe that had a factor.

Kaz Grala running the Daytona 500 in the 16 for Kaulig Racing.

Long: Grala will pilot the No. 16 Camaro ZL1 1LE for the team, which seeks to make its second career Cup race. The team does not have a charter and is not guaranteed a starting spot. Kaulig Racing stated that sponsorship would be announced later.

HOT TAKE: Kaulig goes full-time Cup racing in 2022 with both Grala and Haley
