You can't compare talent level of Suarez to Logano now. I don't like either driver but I'd say Suarez has as much talent now as Logano did 2 years in to Cup.

I also think SHR is a better environment for Suarez. He didn't really fit in with Gibbs imo, I think he fits great with SHR. I think he'll do similar to what Almirola did last year, maybe a little less.

Suarez to the #41 is a waste of a good ride imo. Hope he proves me wrong.

NEWS: Auto-Owner's Insurance will still sponsor Martin Truex Jr. as he switches over to Joe Gibbs Racing.

No shocker there, I think we all knew it was going to happen.

I don't think there is a meme capable of exemplifying how bad of a decision it was for HRE to not try and keep Moffitt on board... wish em the best.... not holding my breath.....

in mediocre equipment... managed 1 top 5, 6 top 10s, and 11th in points... 3 DNFs (Dover, wrecked by 13)(Vegas, caught in wreck off turn 4 with Peters)(ISM engine blew)

    I think he's a good fit....

I certainly wouldn't call Young's trucks mediocre, but they definitely aren't top of the line. But yeah, he did do great with what he had imo.

Hill gonna make a lot of noise this year, his talent is underrated and he's still only 24. I'm stoked to see this for him and know he'll do well.

For those (like me) who see Hill as a talented driver, that's great news. For those who either don't like him or do not see talent in him, see it by the good side: at least, it wasn't Natalie Decker or Cody Coughlin who got the ride.

I must have missed where the sponsors all collectively said they wouldn't back Truex at FRR, but would at JGR.

I just think that, if the these same sponsors don't have a problem with putting out money to sponsor Truex, then why did Barney have to shut down his team? I think, if the news is true that Gibbs increased the asking price of his alliance and technical help, that he could have found another partner if that's the route he wanted to go down. The whole situation just seems wrong to me.

Gibbs DID increase the price substantially, and finding another partner that was willing to support the team would have been difficult to say the least, and Barney did say he didn't want the team to take any steps back in terms of performance, which, at the time this all went down, all but eliminated every team except JGR and SHR, and I doubt SHR wanted to get into a technical alliance; to the contrary, they probably looked at the 78 team the same way Gibbs did: if it shuts down, that's a free agent that comes paired with sponsors, and with Kurt leaving the 41, that made Truex a valuable commodity.

Welcome to cutthroat business. I despise the methods on a moral level, but understand why what was done was done.
