Per Adam Stern, DGR had a K&N engine in their Arca car at the test which is why they were given the penalty.

Still B.S, an ARCA engine IS a K&N engine.

    Doesn’t K&N use spec engines?

ARCA and K&N run identical Ilmor 396s.

Everyone can have their opinion on the 2019 package, as is their right.... but it's disconcerting (to say the least) for a major NASCAR media outlet to completely spin a drivers words and take it out of context....
Didn't even attempt paraphrasing.... they just simply spun their words. Currently, NASCAR on NBC is getting lit up on social media for this.

I've seen a lot of bad stories regarding context, but that takes the cake.

I see jayski.com has closed as of 1/28. I've used that site for years to get current driver/car info and paint schemes. Does anyone know of any other sites that provide this info, especially car info listed by car number? Googling this hasn't turned up much to compare with jayski.

Wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with NASCAR execs making threats to silence any criticism of the new package:

    https://www.motorsport.com/nascar-cup/news/las-vegas-aero-package-test/4331365/

Sure, let's have our drivers test our new cars, then threaten them if they give us feedback we don't like. I'm surprised anyone would want to race for these people.

Why would anyone trust NASCAR to make the right decision, when they've made terrible after terrible decision for the past 15+ years? I lost faith in NASCAR a very long time ago, and they just keep sinking. I hope drivers continue to speak out, because their natural talents should be on display every week, and not diluted for the sake of "entertainment".

While I get NASCAR is a business and all....

seriously? That's some pretty heavy handed comments. And I think they are acting a little overly sensitive because perhaps they don't want people to see through all the smoke and mirrors their PR team is putting up.

Also, I find it interesting shortly after getting lit up on social media for the item I mentioned previously, NASCAR on NBC removed the posts on both Facebook and Twitter.

Too bad the internet never forgets.

Imagine a company that lets you test a product but punishes you unless you give positive feedback of said product

From what I’m told the cars are the same but engines and tires are different.

Someone mentioned before that the car was 100% ARCA except the engine was an old Yates K&N engine because it costs a good chunk to test the illmor and refresh it so they slapped that in instead. It was not a "sanctioned" test as no officials were there...

ARCA’s Ilmor 396 and the K&N Roush NT-1 are basically the same engine. Either way, I think Gilliland has a point here. NASCAR should have no jurisdiction over an ARCA test.

    Edit: Just got beat.
