So Jones (based on this 1 year extension) has that amount of time to produce results or his ass is out the door.
At least, that's really what it sounds like.
Meanwhile, Bell gets to cut his teeth on 2nd rate equipment (compared to actual JGR stuff) and prepares himself for the 20 ride in 2021.

I think that had as much to do with the Cole Pern/Truex team combination as anything else. And the next season, what happened again?

Oh that's right, Gibbs forced the team under by jacking up costs for a technical alliance for the following season, and then scooped up Pern, Truex, etc after.
And that team also had some mid-level JGR support, I need to find where but its been said that LFR doesn't really get jack for support.

I expect what happened to FRR to happen to LFR all over again.

Consider DiBenedetto to be very lucky to still be relevant after being dropped by Gibbs as a development driver almost 10 years ago. He could've easily faded into obscurity like so many development drivers did when the big owners routinely dropped driver after driver. I'm sure he'll find a decent Cup seat or a very good Xfinity seat in the future.

The Matt D news was to be expected, unfortunately, but they can't keep Bell in Xfinity any longer and there isn't anywhere else to put him right now. Matt's main problem is timing, it seems. The talent is there and he's likeable, but he's been mediocre, stat-wise, for too long.

And I'm really disappointed in the Twitter trolls who were telling Cody Ware to kill himself following the news, especially for the fact that the dude has his own demons that he's publicly acknowledged. I feel bad for the guy.

No matter how much you like the guy, how in the world can you call him mediocre stat-wise? He's gotten every bit out of every car he's driven. Given the teams he's driven for and the shitboxes he has directed around race tracks, I'd say he's done about the best he possibly could have. I'm not even a real fan of the guy thanks to Reddit but you gotta give credit where it's due.

That's why I said "stat-wise." I know the talent is there. We've all seen it, but you look at stats for his whole career, and what do you see? Not a whole lot.

Why is Cody Ware even catching heat for the DiBurrito thing? How was he even involved?

Yeah, he had a bit of a meltdown on Twitter after he and Matt got together in a race. He doesn't deserve that level of hate, though. That's not what Matt's about, so why are his "fans."
