Hey, I'm actually posting a song with words! lol
Just saw them for the 2nd time at the MMRBQ in Camden,NJ. They always put on a great show anywhere.
Check that out.
Saw them live at the 2013 Monster Energy Aftershock Festival in Sacramento (they were one of the final acts of the first night on the 2nd stage). They were fantastic and had the crowd going wild for most of their act. One of the best moments was when they slowed things down and performed Simple Man after doing .45. The crowd was singing, holding up lighters/lights, and chimed in whenever the singer held out the mic to the audience. Video below (not my capture) along with another one of their performances from that awesome night (Second Chance):
Avenged Sevenfold ended the second night (they followed Five Finger Death Punch) and absolutely brought down the house with a mix of their older stuff alongside their newer work. I may have damaged my hearing a little by being so close during their performance but it was well worth it. Videos below (again, not my capture):
I missed them play Simple Man this past weekend, the weather was not on the good side and the people I was with weren't having it.... Saw the vid online tho. Didn't beat Rockstar Uproar 2012 when Brent came into the crowd and sang it. Anyway next on my concert list is Rock Allegiance in Chester PA in September. 2 Days, 40 Bands.
Can't get off of this one, arghhhh.
They did Sound of Silence really well.
My mood right now...
I do a lot of painting, but it's all inspired by what I listen to. I've recently found a new band that I've really taking a liking to, called Polyphia. All instrumental, technical progressive metal. If you've ever listened to Animals as Leaders, Scale the Summit, or even maybe Dream Theater, I think you'd love them. Here's the first song I heard by them that got me hooked.
Wow, that sounded pretty good. I'll have to check them out.
I had heard about them for a while because they are similar to a bunch of other bands I like, and I finally checked them and was really glad I did. Glad you dug it!
Have you heard of The Ocean? They're tech prog metal and one of their albums, Pelagial, comes with two versions; one with vocals and the other completely instrumental. The instrumental version might appeal to you.
