Well congratulations to those of you that got involved in accidents during that short part of the race. I suddenly have somewhere I have to go and I won't be able to run the race tonight. Will pick this back up on Monday.

@DJ_on_UNSC: Slow in practice, somehow 8th in qualifying and slow again in final practice. Why can't we be like this in Cup?

Race is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM ET.

For the time being, let's take a look at the point standings of those not already locked into the Chase on wins.

    05. 66 Alikz Ahlbrand +52
    06. 17 Brendan Peavy +13
    07. 62 Jacob Craigo +9
    08. 68 Kyle Missimer/Spencer Hunter +5
    09. 4 Bobby Farrell +2
    10. 6 Sean English +1
    11. 06 Joseph Onesto +1
    12. 41 Greg Woodard --
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    13. 1 Connor Root -1
    14. 02 Joe Towianski -3
    15. 37 David Calhoun -3
    16. 19 Brendan Gorman -8
    17. 07 Josh Walton -8
    18. 47 Tim Johnston -11
    19. 9 Josh Hawkins -18
    20. 20 Ryan Wayne -20
    21. 45 Scott Lounsberry -29
    22. 51 J.R. Franklin -31
    23. 54 Bob Laryson -41
    24. 53 Adam Douglas -44
    25. 60 Kyle Corbett -45
    26. 77 Mike Ehresman -46
    27. 61 Travis Baker -51
    28. 16 Joshua Michaels -60
    29. 24 Noah Joyce -105

The maximum number of points that can be earned in a single race is 47, the minimum is 2. The +/- comes out to be 45. With that being said, Alikz Ahlbrand has clinched a Chase berth by being 52 points ahead of 12th place. Alternatively, Mike Ehresman, Travis Baker, Joshua Michaels, and Noah Joyce cannot make the Chase by any other means except winning the race this afternoon.

At laps 10, 20, 30, and 40 we will give unofficial updates on the Chase grid as they run for positions 6-20 (Brendan Peavy through Ryan Wayne). If the leader at the time is points-eligible, it will be assumed that they won the race.

...so if I win, the 68 makes it into the Chase? In regards to fairness, I'd think that Hunter should have to win to get the car into the knockout rounds.

Well it's a shared effort, so either driver can win and get into the Chase. However once the Chase starts, you'll either have to pick your track concentration or Hunter's track concentration to use for the Chase races.

Eh, trash the whole points update things. It would take up too much time.

Engines have fired at Lime Rock Park. We're 45 laps from determining which 12 drivers will compete in the 2016 Chase for the Championship. A pair of Chase-eligible drivers, Kyle Missimer and Mike Ehresman, will lead the field to the green.

GREEN FLAG: Great start for Kyle Missimer. He should be able to clear Ehresman before they make it to turn 1.

Lap 1: Missimer's great start opens up a lead of just over 1 second over Mike Ehresman, who had to deal with Brendan Gorman most of the lap.
