Lap 27: Connor Root finally gives Tim Kunkel 2nd while Trey Coleman gets around Jackson Braun for 5th. We believe all of these cars still have to make a pit stop before the end of this race. Looks like it could be shaping up like a finish similar to what we had at Mid-Ohio for the second race of the season.

    #24- "I'm.... I'm done. I'm sick of this."
    #24CC- "Just hang in the-"
#24- "I've hung in there all season long! How about you get your crap together, huh?! This is awful and it can't be blamed on me not hanging in there! Ridiculous!"

Lap 29: Brendan Peavy is hoping the fuel makes it to the end and that caution can get them to the checkered without having to make a stop. A win from Peavy will punch his ticket into the next round of the Chase. The same goes for Connor Root in 3rd and Connor Mire in 4th.

Lap 30: Connor Root and Connor Mire both get by Tim Kunkel. Chase contenders now run 1-2-3. Kunkel is not done fighting yet as he battles back to the inside of Connor Mire down the frontstraight.

Lap 31: Tim Kunkel back around Connor Mire for 3rd.

Two different pit strategies going on as we close in on the final quarter of the race. Will someone make it the entire race without pitting, or does the fuel run out and someone that elected to pit wind up winning the race? We'll know before too long.

Lap 32: Connor Root was able to retake 2nd from Tim Kunkel just a few laps ago. He's now closed to under half a second behind Brendan Peavy for the lead.

Speaking of Tim Kunkel, he now runs 5th after both Connor Mire and Trey Coleman get by.

Lap 33: LEAD CHANGE: Adam Douglas takes over the lead as pit road is suddenly a busy place! Peavy, Root, Kunkel, Mire, Coleman, Kunkel, Hawkins, Braun, Ehresman, Wayne, Flaitz, English, Ahlbrand, Laryson, Farrell, Onesto, DesRosiers, Asher, and Gorman are all on pit road.

Some of these drivers also came down pit road under caution, so even those drivers are questioning whether or not they can make it to the end on fuel.

Lap 34: LEAD CHANGE: J.R. Franklin to the lead around Adam Douglas in turn 2. Brendan Peavy won two races in a row last season at Thompson and Indianapolis. Franklin is now in position to do the same at Richmond and Indianapolis this year.

Chris Everett on pit road. He hit the wall in turn 4 while trying to make room for those coming to pit road.

Lap 35: LEAD CHANGE: Adam Douglas back to the lead as he uses teammate Connor Mire as a pick to get around J.R. Franklin.

Everyone that came down pit road with the exception of Brendan Peavy, Connor Root, and Connor Mire have all lost a lap.

Lap 36: 12 laps remaining as the leaders lap Noah Joyce for the second time. Something has been amiss on the #24 since the restart.

Douglas and Franklin hold a 2.1 second lead over 3rd place Ben Althen. The top 18 have not pitted, but they all came down pit road under the only caution of the race. We've already seen a couple of cars that came down under caution also already come down under green. Can these 18 cars make it to the end on fuel?

Lap 37: Absolutely not what those guys that just came down pit road wanted to see. Caution is out for the second time this evening for multiple cars around in turn 3.

This will trap everyone from Trey Coleman in 21st on back 1 lap down.

#24- "Oh really, what'd they say?"
#24CC- "Said you'd been amiss since the restart."
#24- "Somethings been amiss since the start at Daytona."

Brendan Peavy and Connor Root were able to hold on and stay on the lead lap after making their green flag stop. Everyone else is trapped a lap down.

Tim Kunkel clips Joshua Michaels in the left rear off into turn 3.

    indy_caution_2_1.jpg

As both cars slide up the track, they collect Joe Towianski.

    indy_caution_2_2.jpg

All three cars hit the outside wall. Michaels' car gets wedged between the wall and Tim Kunkel's car, forcing the #16 over and on its roof.

    indy_caution_2_3.jpg

As Kunkel's car drags along the outside wall, Joshua Michaels' car slides on its roof down the racing surface.

    indy_caution_2_4.jpg

Michaels' car continues to slide on its roof before sliding to a stop right in front of Tim Johnston. Johnston was able to get his car slowed down, but not enough to keep from running into Michaels. Bobby Farrell just barely sneaks his way through.
