    2017....

    average finish for the 31 - 15.8
    average finish for the 3 - 18.6
    average finish for the 27 - 19.6
    average finish for the 13 - 20.7

    average finish for the 43 - 18.8

Smart move! Already short on sponsorship, let's change more. If the whole Dodge thing is true 2018 is a throw away year at best. Not a fan of this move.

Guess they'll be running 20th instead of 19th every week.

Well, it will take some getting used to on my end seeing the #43 car running on-track as a Chevy Camaro ZL1 instead of a Ford Fusion next year, I will admit. Considering that I have only seen Petty cars run as Dodges (Intrepid R/T, Charger R/T) and Fords (Fusion) in my 16 years as a NASCAR fan, it is somewhat awesome that I will get to see them run under the Chevy banner with the Camaro ZL1.

Hopefully this alliance works out for both sides and they can enjoy some success in 2018. Highly doubtful (especially since RCR has been mediocre for several years as an organization and running mid-pack on a consistent basis when not finding ways to win with Newman or Dillon), but you never know if RCR will finally manage to get their act together and be more competitive on-track for 2018.

That's what happens when you throw all your sponsor dollars to your mediocre grandson's team and no one else.

We were discussing that in the rumors and speculation thread before the official announcement. Personally, I highly doubt it. The stylized #43 is an important part of the Petty brand. It just wouldn't make sense.

Still riding the coattails of Petty's 200 wins which hasn't been relevant since 1984.
