Lap 1: Cole gets the jump on the start and takes the lead into turn 1. Ahlbrand slides into 2nd, Blanford 3rd, Missimer 4th, and Batson and Busch battle for 5th into turn 3. Cole leads lap 1, Batson takes 5th as Busch now tries to hold off Towianski for 6th.

Lap 2: Cole pulling away from the 66 while behind them Batson on the move working his way inside of Missimer on the exit of 5c. They drag race up the hill down the long straight to turn 8. Batsons got the spot as they brake for the right hander.

Lap 3: Missimer drops outside the top 5 now as Towianski gets around him into turn 1. Busch also dropping back early as he is down to 9th giving up spots to Root and Llamas. 2 of the top 3 in points dropping back early.

Lap 5: Connor Root, the newest driver to the Cup scene with a power move around the outside of Missimer in turn 1. The 99 takes away the 6th spot from 68. Cole out to a 2 second lead but Ahlbrand is closing back in, just setting the fastest lap of the race. Blanford still holds down 3rd and Batson in 4th.

Lap 6: Busch gets back around Llamas to move into 8th while behind them Coleman with a nice pass on Farrell in turn 3 to crack into the top 10. Up front Cole responds by putting up the fastest lap of the race at 1:19.52. Top 2 breaking away quickly from the rest of the field.

Lap 8: Battle for 3rd is getting good. Blanford, Batson, and Towianski are grouped together now as they exit turn 5. Batsons got the draft off the 13 down the straight towards turn 8. He pulls alongside, Batson to 3rd. Behind them Coleman is making his way to the front now getting around Busch to move him into 8th.

Lap 9: Up front Cole holds his lead steady at 2 seconds but then his advantage over 3rd place shoots up to 8.4 seconds. Top 2 several tenths better right now than anyone else. Towianski has gotten by the 13 to move up to 4th. The field fairly spread out now as we start knocking off laps.

Lap 10: Ahlbrand now reeling back in the 25 car. Just 1.6 seconds is the advantage. Kyle Missimer is under fire from Trey Coleman for the 7th spot off turn 5. Give it to the 12 as he completes the pass going into turn 8. Behind them Farrell has moved back into the top 10 getting around Cody Llamas for that 10th position. Zumwalt, Lounsberry, and Caudill right there with them.

Lap 12: Trouble on track way back in the pack. Zachary Scott clipped the left rear of DJ Harris as they came towards turn 5. Harris spun around up the hill and back on track right in the path of the 20 car. They make contact again and go off into the sand trap in turn 5. They both get righted and rejoin the track 38th and 39th. Harris with right side damage comes to pit road. We stay green.

Lap 14: Harris does lose a lap for repairs to that car as the lead tightens up. Just 1 second now between Cole and Ahlbrand then a huge gap back to 3rd place Batson who is 10 seconds off the lead. Top 2 are dominating this race so far.

Lap 16: Harris now 2 laps down as he rejoins the track. While that happens 6th place changes hands in turn 1 as Coleman gets around Connor Root for that spot. The 12 car continues his march to the front now setting his sights just ahead of him on the 13 of Blanford for a spot inside the top 5. Up front here comes Ahlbrand! Ahlbrand right to the rear bumper of Cole off turn 5, he gets the draft and pulls alongside. Into turn 8 and the 66 will take the lead on lap 16.

Lap 17: Coleman now to 5th as he clears Blanford. The 12 is moving forward but is over 18 seconds behind teammate Ahlbrand who now starts to pull away from the 25. Batson still holding down 3rd with Towianski 4th. Trouble over in turn 5, 1 car around and the caution is out. Cody Llamas has spun and is stuck in the sand pit. So we go under our first yellow flag of the race with 17 laps in the books.

Replay shows us that Llamas got tagged in the left rear by Sean English as they were going into turn 5. Llamas slid right across the track and came to a stop in the sand. He was unable to get back on track and will have to wait to get towed out. He will lose a lap as a result.

Lap 20: Ahlbrand with a decent jump gets away with the lead. Cole right there in 2nd. Towianski with a quick jump to the inside of Batson into 1 and he will take 3rd as he brings Coleman with him into 4th in turn 5. Coleman now drafting off the 02 down the straight and will slingshot by before they reach turn 8. Coleman 5th to 3rd on the restart.

Lap 21: Top 10 as we complete the first lap back under green: Ahlbrand, Cole, Coleman, Towianski, Batson, Caudill, Blanford, Zumwalt, Missimer, and Farrell.

Lap 22: Harris who is 1 lap down but trying to get 1 of his laps back has broken away while Cody Llamas who is fighting to stay on the lead lap is holding up the leaders. Ahlbrand all over the 48 as Towianski retakes 3rd from Coleman in turn 3. Off turn 5 and Towianski wants more, he gets 2nd as he drafts by down the straight and pulls in behind the race leader.

Lap 23: Cole drops down to 4th now as Coleman gets around him into turn 1 so suddenly our early race leader is falling back. Now Batson goes by in turn 3 and here comes Caudill. Caudill gets around the 25 in turn 5. Cole from 2nd to 6th in less than a lap.

Lap 25: Ahlbrand with the rest of the top 5 all over him finally gets to the inside of Llamas to put him back 1 lap down and now the yellow flag flies as we have a car stuck in the tire wall just before turn 5. Sean English has destroyed the 31 machine in the turn 4 tire wall.

English got some help as they crested over turn 4 he got a tap in the back bumper from Webster. English ran wide trying to hold on and slid off into the grass. He did what he could to scrub off speed but just didn't have enough room and slammed into the tire wall. That car is toast and he will be our first retiree.

Lap 28: Ahlbrand a good jump and a good car pulls away from Ryan Cole and Connor Root. Slates the first driver that pitted but is also the only driver to pit and not get tires. Doesn't seem to matter though as he makes quick work of DeCosta to take 7th.

Lap 31: Halfway and top 5 remains the same since the restart. The cars that pitted haven't made any progress yet as Ahlbrand starts to pull away.

Lap 34: Dakota Caudill the first driver on fresh tires to start making moves and he is up to 7th and right behind Isaacs. Meanwhile DeCosta, the last driver to stay out has been swarmed and is back to 15th with heavy pressure from the cars behind. Craigo is all over him and now he is into him! DeCosta around getting into turn 5 and he slides up the hill, through the sand, and hard into the tire wall. We somehow stay green as DeCosta tries to get out, he does but will have to pit for repairs and will likely lose a lap.

Lap 36: Connor Root to pit road from 3rd with some sort of issue. Just as that happens we have a crash and go yellow! Bobby Farrell and Joshua Hawkins have taken a bite out of the turn 9 wall. Heavy damage for both cars as Ahlbrand is picked up by the pace car.

Looks like Hawkins just turned into Farrell as they came off turn 8. Not sure what the deal was there but it turned Farrell head on into the turn 9 tires and Hawkins flew into them as well. Both cars severely damaged and they are both done for the evening.

"Well, our incident with Cody was my fault, I thought we had plenty of room and I just got into him. I hate that I spun him, considering he was a former teammate and all. Our wreck was similar I'm sure, I was heading into the turn and I think Webster might've hit a slick spot, and it bumped us onto the grass. I tried to keep it out of the wall, but I lost that battle as you can see. It sucks for the team, all we can do is move to next week and hope for a good run for Cole today."
