Lap 40: Green flag waves and we are back underway with 20 to go! Will the drivers that stayed out have enough fuel to the end or will we get another caution?

Lap 40: Caudilll no problems on the restart jumps away with the lead. Lounsberry attacking Zumwalt for 3rd as Kyle Missimer now into 5th getting around Kunkel in turn 5. Lounsberry drag racing with Zumwalt down the straight to turn 8 and he will edge ahead to take over 3rd.

Lap 42: Caudill is gone! He sets teh fastest lap of the race at a 1:19.19, 3 tenths better than Ahlbrand's from earlier. Webster is already 3.7 seconds behind the 4 machine with 19 to go. Missimer looking good now late in the going gets around Zumwalt for 4th. Perhaps some of the drivers that stayed out could be trying to save fuel if we finish under green. Caudill certainly not thinking that way as he rockets away.

Lap 44: 6.6 seconds the advantage for Caudill. Lounsberry is the new 2nd place car getting around Webster who is now under fire from Missimer. Zumwalt holding station in 5th, Joyce 6th, Kunkel 7th, Mahoney 8th, Jordan 9th, Everett 10th, Hooper 11th, Lennox 12th, DesRosiers 13th, Root 14th, and Grube the top 15.

Lap 47: 10.5 seconds for the race leader over 2nd place. Caudill is absolutely flying right now. At this pace there is no way he can make it to the end on fuel, he will need a caution or have to pit. Lounsberry and the rest of the top 10 are going to be close at their pace but the cars that pitted under the last caution are applying the pressure trying to work their way forward.

Lap 48: Pit stops already for some of the front runners. Lounsberry, Missimer, Kunkel, Lennox, and Grube on pit road. They can't make it and pit early. 4 tires and fuel to the end for those drivers. They are now betting that everyone will have to pit before the end of the race. Caudill now in front by 13 seconds.

Lap 49: Caudill to pit road now and so is 2nd place Webster. Joyce, Jordan, Mahoney, DesRosiers, and Hooper come to pit road. The 11 car billowing smoke out the back as he pits. The 11 has blown up just shy of the finish. Zumwalt now the new race leader but does he have the fuel to make it to the end?

Lap 50: Things have really shaken up as Zumwalt inherits the race lead over Everett. Both those drivers are the only cars left that didn't pit under that last yellow. Connor Root now sits 3rd, he has a lot more fuel than either of the Fords in front of him. Ahlbrand now in 4th with Gegner the last car in the top 5. Caudill is the first car on track that pitted under green and is going to need the drivers in front to have to pit as he currently runs 20th, 17 seconds behind the leader.

Lap 51: JJ Jordan goes up in smoke just as Root, Ahlbrand, and Gegner catch the top 2 as they have on better tires. No caution for Jordan as he stays in the grass and limps to the pits. 10 to go as they cross the stripe.

Lap 53: Ahlbrand on a mission, will not be denied a win passes both Root and Everett to move into 2nd. The lapped car of DeCosta now the only thing between him and Zumwalt. They are running 3 seconds off the fast pace from earlier to try and save fuel.

Lap 54: Busch around Gegner for 5th in turn 5. Busch looking for a great points day here in Canada as Zumwalt continues to lead it over Ahlbrand, Everett, and Root. Isaacs currently runs 7th, Cole 8th, Slates 9th, and Scott 10th. Caudill back in 20th is now only 11.4 seconds behind but he will not have enough time unless the drivers in front need to pit or we get a caution.

Lap 56: 5 to go and Ahlbrand is still trapped behind the lapped car of DeCosta. Gegner has retaken 5th from Busch and Caudill has caught the back of the pack of cars that haven't pitted. He is only 8 seconds behind Zumwalt but with 5 to go needs the 19 cars in front of him to pit or run out.

Lap 57: Gegner all of a sudden has the afterburners turned on. He rockets from 5th to 3rd getting around Root and Everett. Busch able to follow the 29 around Root to take 5th. Maybe Gegner has saved enough fuel to now go hard to the end. Top 19 cars all race by pit road for another lap. At this point they must be going for it.

Lap 58: Zumwalt keeping the lapped car of DeCosta between him and Ahlbrand as now Gegner applies the pressure to the 66 for 3rd. Ahlbrand holds on as we come to see 3 to go. Darren Ingram to pit road from 14th, they are short on fuel! Splash and dash for the 2 team. They pitted under that last caution and couldn't make it so what is left in the tank for the leaders?

Lap 59: Gegner all over Ahlbrand, Gegner to the inside into turn 5, Gegner grabs 2nd and DeCosta passes Zumwalt! Zumwalt now with Gegner all over his bumper as they race towards turn 8. Gegner alongside, race for the lead as we come to 2 to go! Zumwalt holds on as they stay out once again. Everett, Busch, O'Reilly, Coleman, and Llamas all to pit road, they are short on fuel.

Lap 60: 2 to go and Zumwalt is blocking Gegner every which way. Into turn 5 and here comes Gegner to the inside for the lead! Off turn 5 and he's got it! Gegner to the lead as they come to the white flag!

Lap 61: White flag in the air for James Gegner. 2.45 miles from victory if he has enough fuel to make it. Zumwalt already a full second behind just trying to make it to the finish. Root gets around Ahlbrand for 3rd into turn 1. Gegner is gone but does he have enough fuel? He rounds turn 5 and still has power up the hill down the straight to turn 8.

#94CC- "Root to third, he's got the fuel to do it."
#94- "Tell him go as hard as he can, all risks taken. He's got nothing to lose but this race."

Lap 61: Through turns 9 and 10 and to the line, James Gegner will win at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park! Zumwalt somehow saves enough fuel to come home 2nd, and rookie Connor Root takes 3rd.

Gegner conserves fuel en route to win in Mosport!

James Gegner comes away with the win after a race that came down to fuel mileage. Gegner pitted under the last caution and was patient to work his way forward, saving tires and fuel before making his move with 5 to go. Gegner quickly surged from 5th to 2nd and then made quick work of Zumwalt with 2 to go to take the lead. Gegner now the 13th different winner in the 13 races so far this season as he rolls the DirecTV Chevy into victory lane in Canada.

Jeremy Zumwalt comes away with a 2nd place finish after somehow stretching the fuel farther than anyone else. Zumwalt was almost 3 seconds a lap slower for the last 10 or so laps but just couldn't hold off Gegner any longer without getting moved. Zumwalt still earns a very solid 2nd with a great strategy call that almost got him another win.

How about Connor Root taking home 3rd here this evening. The rookie started late in the season and only has a few races under his belt but proves today that he can battle with the best. Root caught a lucky break after being forced to pit under green for unscheduled stop just as the final caution flew. This cycled Root out as the first driver with fresh tires and he was able to use them to race all the way up to 3rd with a late race pass on pole sitter Ahlbrand in the closing stages. Root could spoil things for our championship contenders in the final 3 races if he can keep this pace up.

"Well, unless we can win the next race, we've got no shot at a championship. We won ROTY in Truck though, and will be fighting for a championship."

"17th for us but man, how about Connor? 3rd place in his second start. Awesome job by him and whatever needed fixing *chuckles*. 3rd, 16th, 17th, and 18th. I'm starting to like road courses now. Gonna go get the team together and celebrate a great 3rd place finish for Connor. I'd like to thank all of our sponsors, so here goes *laughs* Thank you to Aaron's, Lilly Diabetes, Salt Life, Sig Sauer, Oakley, PSD Underwear, 5 Hour Energy, Krispy Kreme, AccuDoc Solutions, HendrickCars .com, Axalta, Northrop Grumman, Chevrolet, Union Pacific, and Kroger. I think that's all.... I hope so! Also want to thank God, my family and friends, and send my thoughts and prayers out to the people of Dallas. This weekend on my SRD Truck we'll be running the thin blue line across the back of the truck. Great day for Joyce Racing."

Well that really hurt our hopes to repeat, but we've got three races left. We need to be right up there the last three races.

"With the way we ran this weekend, we're lucky we lost as few points as we did. This weekend was unacceptable from us. We've gotta be on our A-game the next 3 races if we want any shot at winning the title."
