Welcome to Long Beach, California, where 33 drivers are ready to take on the difficult Long Beach Circuit.
    IMG_3240.PNG
Eleven turns stand in front of these drivers, to go along with the difficulty that a street course brings. This isn't a purpose built raceway, but instead the everyday streets of Long Beach.

Bobby Farrell is surely one to look out for, winning our first road course race in Daytona. Farrell has also won the previous two road course titles. B&T Motorsports has looked strong out of the #4 and #15 camps, and could capitalize on that yet again.

Michael Peters is also another to watch for. He's struggled early, as has his team, but they aren't a team to just give up. While Zumwalt has stepped away from the team, Missimer still knows what he's doing, and will bring this team back to the front. Peters is eager to get to the front, and to run in this street course. Can Peters finally score his first IndyCar win?

Craigo: "I have no idea how we're this fast, but I'll take every position I can get!"

Also, the race is being pushed back a half-hour. Had something come up that I don't expect to take that long to take care of.

Apologies for the extended delay folks! Turns out the issue was underestimated......

As I said earlier, this will be a short broadcast, so really the only screenshots I plan on posting are the Green Flag, Checkered Flag, and any wrecks inbetween. We're going for 80 laps folks!

Three things to watch out for:
    1. Bobby Farrell. This guy is synonymous with road courses and will lead this 33 car field to the green tonight!
    2. Tight turns, tight racing. The streets of Long Beach are known for their width.... Or lack thereof.... Drivers will need to be on their toes to avoid any contact that would result in a race-ending crash.
    3. Pit Road. The pit entry is in turn 10, so these guys will need to be extra extra careful when entering pit road!

Who will take home the win here at Long Beach?Drivers are rolling around the circuit for the pace laps, and the green flag is around the corner!

    [Screenshots will be posted post-race]

Lap 1 of 80: The field 'rounds the hairpin and land on the front stretch. Fred G. Flagman, who has served the Sim Racing Community since 1996, has the flag in his hand. It goes in the air! Bobby Farrell and his 32 competitors hit the accelerator! We're underway at Long Beach!

Lap 2 of 80: Bobby Farrell gets the jump! TROUBLE EXITING TURN 5! A full course caution is called as Sean English gets turned, blocking the track! Peters also spins around! Those involved managed to drive away with little to no damage! At least 3 or 4 cars involved overall! Farrell leads the field to the line!

Caution Summary: Sean English went wide entering turn 3, but due to having to go slower, was caught 3-wide with Michael Peters and Matt O'Reilly. Michael drifted out into English, turnign both drivers around. English gets a piece of the #7 as Matt drives by. John Hooper Sr. gets the worst of it as he has nowhere to go and t-bones the right side of Peters' car.

A shoutout to Tim Kunkel in the #15 for basically just stopping his car and avoiding the wreck as English and Peters slid down right in front of him.

Lap 6: Trouble in turn 10! Local yellow only as 2 cars are in the tires! It's the #13 of Spencer and the #39 of Wayne! Looks like the #13 went into the corner too hot and punted Wayne and himself into the tire barrier. Spencer's #13 machine is smoking as he drives off, his day most likely done in the early going here! Ryan Wayne continues on, with significantly less damage to his #39 machine.

    #13S: "You okay there?"
Spencer: "Physically, yes. My feelings are hurt though."
    #13CC: "What happened?"
Spencer: "Just locked up the brakes. Didn't mean to do that. This place is damn tricky."

Lap 10: Wayne exits pit road right as the leaders begin to pass him! Farrell is able to pull away a little bit as Johnston has slight troubles trying to get around. Wayne falls in line behind him, right in front of Curtain.

Lap 14 of 80: Just our second caution this evening, Noah Joyce has a problem as his car is dead silent and only going 50 MPH coming across the line! SRD Officials are forced to throw a full course yellow to allow tracks crews to get a tow truck out to bring Noah's #46 machine to pit road after it came to a stop dangerously close to the racing line. Farrell leads them at the line.
