Welcome to Concord, North Carolina and the Charlotte Motor Speedway for this weekend's Queen City 201 presented by Charlotte's got a lot! We're just minutes away from the race's namesake, beautiful downtown Charlotte, the Queen City. Charlotte Motor Speedway has never been ran by the SRD IndyCar Series, making it even ground for these teams. High speeds and close racing are expected at the beginning, but pit stops could string the field out, making the draft even more important.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway is a 1.5 mile oval located in Concord, North Carolina. The track is wide enough for three wide racing, but expect double wide racing as the best way around this track is in a line. This means two lanes trying to reach the front.
    148.gif
It was a wild race in Long Beach last weekend, as Bobby Farrell led nearly every lap, earning maximum points and his second win of the year.

This weekend, it's anyone's race. The draft is IndyCar's great equalizer this weekend. If you can get in the fastest line and make the right decisions, you might just end up in victory lane come Saturday night. Draft, Decisions, and Determination. The 3 "D's" to the race.

The biggest story of the day is one word. This word was tossed around by nearly every fan, team owner, crew member, and driver in the garage area tonight. Safety. The topic had been brought up a couple of times after this track was announced to be on the schedule. Tonight, it was the only topic after Matt O'Reilly, driver of the #7 Rolex Honda, flipped in a practice crash, including Tim Johnston and Jason Blanford. Race officials have said the race will continue as planned, and they will continue to address the topic of safety.

Qualifying has concluded here in Concord. This was the last chance for these drivers to get acquainted with this track before the race tomorrow night. DJ Harris grabbed his first pole of the season, and a bonus point, with a lap time of 25.608. Harris, in his Opp, Inc. #51 WestJet Honda will start alongside Ike Durbin, driver of the #86 Nvidia Chevrolet for Asher Racing. Another notable is Ford Performance Racing, with both Kyle Missimer and Michael Peters starting in the top 10, and Brendan Peavy starting close behind in 13th. Well of course my game crashed in the middle of running the race . I may get it in by tonight, but it'll likely be ran tomorrow now. Sorry. I would just set it to how many laps were left but I don't know what the running order was, so I can't do that.

Anyone want to know what had happened up until the point it crashed? Knock yourself out...

Well, of course a race I actually do good in I would end up crashing and almost getting injured, lol.

I don't. It's all done live from me.

Maybe I should be taking notes here....

It all comes down to preference really. It's easiest for me to run it, type out everything on my phone's "Notes" app, send the screenshots to myself, save them to my phone, and copy and paste the race. The only downside really is knowing everything before everyone else does.

Well, I survived the first time. Can I survive again? That's the question.
