Welcome to Sparta, Kentucky and the 1.5 mile Kentucky Speedway. Teams have had an unplanned break to prepare for this event, and hopefully for the event coming up in Bahrain.

Kentucky Speedway is a semi banked 1.5 mile oval located in Sparta, KY. The track is rather wide, allowing 2-3 wide racing. However, unforgiving bumps on its aging surface could make 3 wide not such a good idea.

Last time, at Homestead, Brandon Chrasta was able to make the most out of the mess and come out with his second win of the season. That gave Chrasta more than a 40 point lead. Can Chrasta and Games123's oval program continue to dominate this weekend?

The SRD IndyCar Series is returning to Kentucky for only the third time. It was ran on the inaugural schedule as well as in 2015. Last year, Jason Blanford held on to earn his first career victory over Tim Kunkel. He's with a new team this season, and has been strong early. Can he do it again?

Teams will be using the Firestone Orange tires (the Soft compound) this weekend.

This one won't have race coverage. I'm too far behind. Hopefully, when Christmas break arrives I'll be able to make these enjoyable.

DeCosta Wins A Wild One in Kentucky
220 mile per hour speeds at Kentucky Speedway this weekend left only 17 drivers on the track and 8 on the lead lap. The first half of the race was full of spins and small accidents that sent many behind the wall and left others with no chance due to damage. After the race settled down in the second half, there was a three way battle for the lead between Tim Johnston, Ryan DeCosta, and John Hooper, Sr. They swapped the first, second, and third positions for nearly 50 laps, before the final pit cycle. This left Johnston nearly a lap behind. and left it up to Hooper, Sr. and DeCosta. In the end, Ryan DeCosta came out the winner after 121 laps. The teams will now get ready for the road course in Bahrain and the International Tour. DeCosta wins it in Kentucky! Results are below, and updated points are coming later tonight per SRD Indy Officials.

This year has really been something else I tell. Show signs of speed and then just fall off because why not?

We can't let Brandon get away from us. With as short of a season as it is, every position matters.

Worst average finish for the 3 cars since that mess at Charlotte, and we still have 2 of the top 3. Looking forward to the international part of the schedule, next week, to get back on track.
