Race coverage will start at approximately 7:15PM EST.
The cars have rolled off, we're about to go green in Bahrain!
Lap 1: Green Flag- John Hooper, Sr. and Darren Ingram lead us into turn 1! Out of turn 1 and through the esses, Ingram has a charge but slides it, Hooper creates a gap. And heartache for Tim Kunkel! This is not the way he wanted to start the second half of the season. The #15 goes up in smoke!
Lap 2: Single file all the way around this race track. The #11 car has about a 1 second gap. Every car seems to be a second ahead of the one behind them.
Lap 3: Ray Tustin putting some pressure on Austin Spencer for 25th, but he slides the car through turn 9, and will remain behind the #13 car.
Lap 5: Hooper with a 2.17 second lead. It looks like it might be time to pull back the lever on those recliners, and settle in for a long parade.
Coming around the final turn to complete lap 5, and Ryan DeCosta dives for the pits! And he hits the pit road wall! DeCosta does a 360° on pit road and continues on, but I'm sure he'll have some mechanical issues now.
Chevrolet Performance Onboard - #46 - Noah Joyce
Lap 9: Hooper slides way wide in turn 7! He's lost all of his ground! The #11 falls all the way back to 6th! Darren Ingram is your new leader!
Hooper has fallen all the way back to 13th now.
Lap 14: Anthony Curtain comes to a complete stop coming to the final turn. Tim Johnston hits the end of pit road wall, just as the #17 of Ryan DeCosta did before! Yellow flag flies!
Under caution now as everyone comes in to pit. Ingram leads them off.
Lap 17: We're a couple laps past being a quarter of the way through, so it's time for a full field rundown...
13. Hooper Sr.
33. Kunkel RETIRED (Valve)
Lap 19: Green Flag- Ingram leads them down into the first turn! Noah Joyce jumps inside, he's got second out of the esses!
And Ike Durbin dives into turn one and takes out points leader Brandon Chrasta! Big crash into turn 1!
Ike Durbin looks to have overshot turn 1, and got into the back end of Chrasta. This sent Chrasta forward into the #7 of Matt O'Reilly, and caused a stack up behind them.
Ryan Wayne was turned by James Gegner, while Sean English tried to fly by the wreck on the inside, but hit Chrasta. This sent Chrasta up ever so slightly into Andrew Burr's line.
Burr sent the #42 back down the track into the line that James Gegner and Steven Merzlak had. Merzlak t-boned Chrasta hard, sending him up into his side momentarily.
Bobby Farrell then slammed into the #40, head on.
To add insult to injury, the #00 of Michael Peters never changed lanes, following his successful attempt at avoiding the wreck, and hit the #40 on the rear tire cover.
Lap 20: Not a whole lot of takers this time. Noah Joyce comes in from second, he will come out thirteenth in the running. John Hooper Sr., Tim Johnston, and those involved in the accident were the only others to pit. Bobby Farrell, Steven Merzlak, and Brandon Chrasta have all retired from the race. Bobby Farrell will not win three straight at Bahrain. It'll be a big points gain for someone today as the top two drivers are out, and Ray Tustin, who sits third in points, has not had a strong start to this event.
#54CC:"Brandon just got taken out."
#54:"Well I'm only running 30th so who did it so I can put that ****** in the ************* fence!"
Lap 23: Green Flag- A clean restart this time as Ingram gets off to a good lead.
Lap 30: Ingram holds a 2.209 second lead over the #14 of Towns. Caudill, Root, and Coleman round out the top 5.
And the yellow flies again! James Gegner's engine couldn't hold on any longer after damage from the wreck earlier. He comes to a stop on the track and brings out the caution.
Caution #3: Noah Joyce, Matt O'Reilly, and Ryan DeCosta are the only drivers to pit this time. Fuel strategy might be starting to come into play.
Lap 33: Lights are off on the pace car, we'll go green next time by. Through the esses they head, and oh no! Oh my goodness! Darren Ingram goes up in smoke out of the esses! The leader's day is done! A crazy turn of events here in Bahrain!
And now he's caused an incident under the yellow between DJ Harris and Ryan Wayne. Lights are back on the pace car.
Lap 35: Green Flag- Jerry Towns and Dakota Caudill take the green! Out of the esses, Caudill is your new leader!
Lap 39: Connor Root becomes the pit road walls next victim. That brings out the caution for the fourth time.
