MWM ANNOUNCING MORE CHANGES FOR NEXT SEASON

Today, MWM posted a press release announcing that after the conclusion of tomorrow's event, Tyler Clabaugh will have fulfilled his contract for the 2012 season and will be free to pursue other rides in the future. There was no news regarding any possible extensions for Clabaugh. MWM did announce that they will not be renewing the number 1, and will instead return to the number 66 to coincide with their two other cars.

Samsung and Powerade will officially be returning to the 68, while Corsair and Intel are still only rumored to be returning to the 67.

    DOS SANTOS FUTURE STILL UNCERTAIN

Today, a leaked photo of Daniel with the streetside Racing, but Danilo back for the third season remains uncertain, but is already virtually guaranteed to be in a Ford team, another possibility is Danilo take the number 66 in the MWM, but not is likely.

LOPEZ'S FUTURE IN SRD CUP STILL IN LIMBO, POSSIBLY LEAVING SERIES?

We've heard the comments over the course of the season from Jay Lopez week after week, bad run after bad run. It was almost guaranteed the #20 would not be around for 2013. But now after a series of decent runs as of late, Lopez isn't so certain he wants to leave just yet. "We've been good, but, honestly we need to be better in order to be a contender. I love racing in Cup, but I don't think we can carry on like this unless I can get with a contender." The 2nd-year driver still remains winless in his Cup Career, and with Warrior and MONSTER Energy looking to leave the 20 team after the 2012 finale, all eyes are on Homestead, where a top-10 run will almost guarantee the #20 will be back in the SRD Cup garage, come Speedweeks next January. Gegner to return for 2013 Cup season with full sponsorship intact

SRD, Inc. announced today that James Gegner, driver of the #29 Chevy Impala, has signed a contract extension to drive for the team for the next two seasons. In addition, the team announced that Gegner's primary sponsor, DirecTV, and associate sponsors Summit Racing Equipment and LongHorn Steakhouse Restaurants will also be returning for the 2013 season.

According to the team's press release, the motivating factor to sign both the contract extension and renewing the sponsorship package was Gegner's recent string of Top 5 and Top 10 finishes that got him into the Top 35 in SRD Cup Series points standings.

    DX MOTORSPORTS LOOKING TO RETURN

Dx Motorsports, who currently fields 3 cars in the series (16 Kunkel, 26 Bretherick, 36 Newitt) is looking to return next season with all 3 cars. Rumors have it that Kunkel and Bretherick plan to leave in order to start their own team, leaving those 2 seats open.

"Tyler Newitt is slated to return next season, however, nothing is set in stone yet," team owner Daniel Asher said. "We'll take a look at any driver, and if I need to, I'll put the suit on an race."

Kunkel & Bretherick Leaving DxM At Seasons End? Starting New Team? UPDATE

With news that Dan Asher is re-taking back his position at DxM next season, Sean Bretherick may be out of a ride, and Tim Kunkel might find himself out as well. However, this has many to discuss the possibility of the 2 leaving and starting up a brand new team starting next season. As of right now nothing can be confirmed, but news may break in the next few days or weeks.

UPDATE- When news of this rumor broke, Tim Kunkel spoke to some of the media. "Im not aware of anything changing at DxM. As for the rumor of us leaving the team next season, I have no intentions to. We've had a fantastic season with DxM and don't see any changes coming in the near future. Thats all it is, a rumor. Unless he actually comes back and gives us the boot, we're not going anywhere."

    SAMPSON'S FUTURE UNCERTAIN

After a dismal SRD Cup season, Volunteer Motorsports driver Jacob Sampson isn't entirely sure he'll be back in the 83 for season 3. "At the moment, nobody is all that happy. Adidas isn't happy, Chevy isn't happy, and I'm not all that thrilled to be honest. We're better than this and we know it." Sampson said he hopes to keep Adidas on board, but nothing is set in stone just yet.

KAB Racing Enterprises Owner/Driver Keith Batson says he hasn't given up hope that he'll be granted a license to compete for Rookie Of The Year in the upcoming season. "Hopefully, I'll be granted my competition license. I've done everything asked of me. All I'm waiting for is the go ahead from SRD. I'm waiting patiently. Clabaugh Interested in Possible Options After Uncertainty With MWM:

With the rumors of Clabaugh not being brought back possibly to MWM, and with other rumors about, he feels there is still hope if they don't want to retain him. One option is Opp Inc., which may or may not be formed in the Cup Series. Possible owner Oppenheimer, whom he is teammates with in the Indycar series would be more than likely be open to bring Tyler in to race for him. There is also the possibility of DxM or the team that Bretherick and Kunkel may start if they opt out of their DxM contracts. Still early in the silly season, but Clabaugh hopes to keep the ride at MWM.

Cole Proud To Welcome SuperCharged Energy.

With the announcement that at the end of the season, Red Bull will leave the soon-to-be-renamed Red Bull-Webster Racing, Ryan Cole has announced that he will also carry SuperCharged Energy logos on all of his cars. "Driving for Red Bull has been great," he said, "but it will be sad to see them go. However, it will be nice to welcome a new sponsor into our team." Ryan confirmed earlier this season that he will indeed return to the #25 to Webster Racing for the 2013 season.
