This might sound dumb, but, how would I do that?

The superspeedways are rev-limited to 7000 RPM. The only way to change that is change the track chassis type in the track.ini to another chassis that doesn't have the restrictor plate

Ask if you can buy one at scrapyard.

The Seufert Racing engine specialists are working hard to diagnose this re-occurring issue.

I'll help you out with real answers instead of snarky BS.

The chassis is defined in the track.ini and it determines settings you can change, the type of downforce the chassis generates, tire pressures are optimal and whether the engine is restricted or not. Chassis 1 is the only restricted chassis and is the standard chassis for Talladega and Daytona, so when you go to those places with the GNS and Cup physics, you'll have a plate and rev limiter set to lower RPMs (7200 or so). With the CTS physics, there is no plate but setup limitations will still be in place, like the fixed spoiler.

chassis 1 = restrictor plate chassis (low drag, restricted, optimal psi 28 and 48, left track bar can not be higher than the right side, fixed rear springs, shocks and spoiler. 13 gallon fuel tank with Cup physics)
chassis 2 = banked track chassis (low drag, increased nose downforce, psi 28/48, no spring, shock, spoiler or track bar limitations)
chassis 3 = flat track chassis (slightly more drag, increased side force, optimal psi is lower [22 and 32 or so(?)]. no spring, spoiler or track bar limitations. Left track bar can be higher than the right side)
chassis 4 = road course (a bit like 3 but likes the same psi all the way around, increased side force, lower psi all around)
chassis 5 = unrestricted (no plate, adjustable spoiler, springs, shocks, left track bar not higher than right side)
chassis 0 = sprint car? (high drag, lots of power, low psi (22?), tires never wear out)

Change the chassis from 1 to 5 in the track.ini to run the unrestricted chassis. Make sure to backup the original so you can join online races. IF the chassis is different when you try to join a server, you will get a 'chassis mismatch' error and won't be able to join so make sure you have the back-up handy.

    Have fun!
