I figured since we have threads here for NFL, NHL, and NCAAF, we could have one for MLB. I'm not sure how many others are big baseball fans, but I'm a huge Yankees fan.

As the season has now ended (aside from the Game 163 between the Rangers and Rays tomorrow), I'm curious as to everyone else's playoff picks.

AL Wild Card:
Cleveland defeats Texas

NL Wild Card:
Pittsburgh defeats Cincinnati

ALDS:
Oakland defeats Detroit 3-0
Boston defeats Cleveland 3-1

NLDS:
Los Angeles defeats Atlanta 3-1
St. Louis defeats Pittsburgh 3-1

ALCS:
Boston defeats Oakland 4-2

NLCS:
St. Louis defeats Los Angeles 4-3

World Series:
St. Louis defeats Boston 4-2

As popular as Los Angeles might be as a World Series pick, I think St. Louis is the most dangerous team. I saw a stat today that St.L had a team average (full season long) of .329 with runners in scoring position. The previous high since 1961 was .311. That's unreal. If they keep that pace in the postseason, I don't see them being stopped by anyone.

What do you guys think?

Braves fan here...I root for the Angels too since they're the MLB affiliate of the 2013 PCL Pacific Conference Champions, the Salt Lake Bees (y) who went on to lose 3-1 in the PCL Championship Series (n)

The no-hitter that Henderson Alvarez pitched today was very intense. We finished 62-100, but we can only improve from this season.

Cleveland.

Nuff said. Lol Not a big baseball fan, but I've been waiting for a good playoff season all my life (I was born in 95 so I don't remember the 1995 or 97 playoff runs :( and I sure as heck don't count 2007, where we were up 3-1 on Boston in the ALDS I think, and we ended up blowing the last 3 games of the series. (n))

It's been 25 years since the Dodgers have won a WS. It's time to get it done.....

Go Brewers! Wait never mind there season was over in May. Lets try that again Go cubs! There season was also over in May. Baseball is a sport I don't follow munch any more. There has to be nothing on tv for me to watch it. I use to love the game when I was a kid. But roids killed it for me.

To tell you the truth I still don't think baseball is roid free. Well not as munch as MLB and the casual fan thinks. I can see in 10-20 years. When all the current big names are retiring. We will have like what we had 10 years ago.

In the End though. I think it will be a LA Boston WS. With LA winning in 4.

I'm not as convinced that steroids will linger in the game. I'm sure there will always be the 2-3 players a year that get busted, but from everything I've read, it seems like the players are the ones who want it out of the game the most. That's probably from their bloated egos realizing the sport has to be clean for them to have a chance at the Hall of Fame, but I like seeing quotes from current players about how they want the game to be clean and are willing to work with the MLB and MLBPA to make that happen.

Got love the Cardinals. Their pitching team is really good. Look at the last 3 games against the Cubs. One point allowed by the three pitchers.

This is pretty awesome. Quality is terrible, but it's the only version I could find on the internet. Heard it today on the radio.

Less than an hour until the first playoff game. I'm really pulling for the Pirates, I love an underdog story.

I don't know who to root against in the AL since the Yankees aren't in...guess that's a good problem to have.

As far as the NL, I would like the Cardinals to be annihilated. Anyone else out of there is fine.

Too bad Cleveland has to go through Detroit to get to the series.
